Terms of Service
Last updated: July 9, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CodeMask (“CodeMask”, “we”, “us”), available at codemask.io, including the web dashboard, the obfuscation API and the CLI (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
CodeMask transforms source code you provide (Lua, JavaScript/TypeScript and HTML/CSS) into a protected, functionally-equivalent form. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Obfuscation raises the cost of reverse engineering but does not guarantee that protected code cannot be analysed, recovered or defeated.
2. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and keep your credentials and API key secret. You are responsible for all activity under your account and API key. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. You must be legally able to enter into these Terms.
3. Plans, billing & credits
Paid plans are prepaid monthly subscriptions that include a fixed number of obfuscations (“credits”) per billing cycle. Without an active plan you cannot obfuscate. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Creem; by purchasing you also agree to their terms. Credits are consumed per obfuscation regardless of language or outcome size and do not roll over unless stated. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you may cancel at any time and retain access until the end of the paid period.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- obfuscate malware, spyware, ransomware or code intended to cause harm or gain unauthorised access;
- infringe intellectual-property rights or process code you have no right to protect;
- resell, sublicense or obfuscate scripts on behalf of other users, except under an Enterprise plan with prior written approval;
- circumvent plan limits, share API keys to exceed quotas, or abuse the rate limits;
- violate any applicable law or the rights of others.
Violation may lead to immediate suspension or termination without refund.
5. Your content
You retain all rights to the code you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service. We do not sell your code and do not retain uploaded source beyond what is needed to return your result (see the Privacy Policy).
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including the obfuscation engine, virtual machine, website and documentation, is owned by CodeMask and protected by law. These Terms grant you no rights to our software other than to use the Service as permitted.
7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
